I can't believe it -tomorrow sem 2 starts and all those good intentions about being prepared and getting organised seemed to have flown out the window already. I was going to do some reading, wasn't I. Well I did but it wasn't anything to do with uni work. And I was going to think up a system to get my notes organised. Somehow I got through sem 1 so it couldn't have been that bad but there were a few last minute all-nighters with deadlines due. Maybe not such a good idea. I aim to be a bit ahead of the deadlines but somehow they just sneak up on me.
I'm a bit lazy on cold winter mornings but if the cost of petrol keeps going up, I'm going to seriously have to think about getting the bike out and riding to uni once semester starts again. I know I should ride more often but there's the whole thing about how much time it takes and carting all the things I need with me. I guess I could just eat less - hmm, I don't know if that's a real option. Rising costs of petrol must be really hurting some people though, even more than me.
The luxury of 2 extra days in a weekend is hard to measure. All those tasks that normally take up most of the weekend, just so you're in shape for Monday morning again, can be spread over 4 days. There's some time to catch up on those emails with interesting links that you never quite get to usually. A bit of time to read blogs, reflect, read, even talk to people. And sleep...gradually you stop waking up at the crack of dawn. Ahh, long weekends, there should be more of them.
