2009: The Year of ...?

Greetings, bloggerinos Cool

Yes, I have just watched the amiable Flanders on 'The Simpsons'! Just a quick blog today, I think, to make sure that I won't be losing my massive fanbase due to lack of input from my end Laughing

So, a new year - I'm sure you've all noticed that. Uni starts on the 23rd (that's next Monday, in case someone isn't sure)... hope you are all ready for everything that entails. Can't say that I am, although, oddly enough, if you'd asked me 3 weeks ago, I was all gung-ho and ready to go. But now... well, I'm a bit miffed, to be honest. I mean, couldn't it have waited another week? Just one more week to give me some more time to get used to not having any time to myself, to get back into having to be at a certain place at a certain time, to get used to having to not only say something, but someting 'intelligent and relevant to the topic being discussed'. Also, my room... yes, my room. It was clean-ish, for a while... but then something odd happened: it got messy again. My desk: was clean, was even glaringly so because I went at it with warm water and a cloth. But now it's gotten all cluttered again and I'm having trouble ascertaining where the desk ends and the wall begins. Note to Self: Clean Desk. Clean Room. DO IT. NOW.

... no, in case you were thinking, writing that in an open forum will not make it so but it looks impressive, doesn't it?

Well, I guess my desk will be approaching a state of functionality when Monday turns up on my doorstep, my room will be navigable, with small piles of books, clothes and miscellaneous items lying calmly beside a rough path from my bed and desk to the door.

And so, another year begins! *sighs, shuts down computer, crawls into bed, pulls duvet over head and mutters, 'It's not Monday yet, it's not Monday yet, it's not Monday yet!'*

PS: Next time I blog, I can guarantee that I will be less cynical and tired: all I need is a sniff of my Latin books and a lecture by some amazing History member and I'll be happy as a lark on a lovely spring day in Switzerland in a meadow filled with buttercups... Tongue out
