ODay - the interrupted version

Drat - was just writing the most brilliant blog entry this side of the ring of fire and suddenly it's gone! And I can't remember what I was rambling on about!
ODay: I went with my brother who is starting his Uni career as an Arts Student come Monday. We both thought the whole thing was a bit overwhelming (we're both Mature Age students but don't break out the zimmer-frames yet!) but then, maybe that's just us.
There was so much information there it was amazing people's head weren't blowing up! So many clubs, societies and lollipops (the latter is a good thing).
We'd met up with some friends I'd made at Flying Start last week, and so got to introduce my brother to someone who is doing the same unit as him. So he'll have a friendly face to see as he walks into the packed lecture theater for the first time.
We went to some talk hosted by, I think, the Socialist party (couldn't stay til the end as then the Evil Ticket Fairy would come fine us for over-staying our welcome in the carpark!). My brother was impressed, not necessarily by the talk itself, but the availability for mature, intellectual discussion.
The talk was held in the room where I had my first semester Latin and so I spent some time squirming in my seat, worried that any moment I was going to be asked to parse this or that noun ... :o)
Anyway, all in all it was a good day - happy to have gone but also happy to be home and out of the heat (it's possible that I lost 1/4 of my body weight in sweat).
And now, to clean up my desk: being able to actually see it will come in handy when I have to study!
