UniAccess provides assistance to students with disabilities and medical conditions. Here are some of the things we help you with:

  • Alternative exam arrangements
  • Individual advice and advocacy regarding disability and health
  • Parking and physical access
  • Assistive technology supports and access to library services
  • Access to the Resource Room in the Reid Library
  • Advice on careers-related issues

Being a student at the University can be a challenging and exciting experience, but it will also be what you make of it. Although we do whatever we can to assist students, it is up to you to make your needs known and to help in finding solutions to the challenges you might face.

The services and facilities the University provides are intended to ensure that all students can access the benefits and learning environments on a fair and equitable basis.

So that issues can be dealt with in a timely manner, it is advisable that you meet with a UniAccess staff member to discuss your particular situation. You can find us at Student Services in the South Wing of the Guild Village Building (just above Uniprint). The reception area is on the 2nd floor and the UniAccess offices are on the first floor. Here are our contact details:

For General Enquires -

Remember, if problems arise during your course, help is always available. Do not wait until you are at crisis point! All enquiries are treated confidentially.

By the way, Student Services does lots of stuff that you might find helpful. For instance, come in and check out the Study Smarter service. They run lots of learning and research skills workshops. Also coming up are FREE workshops for students on managing anxiety in social settings.

If you missed some of the enrolment info or orientation activities, you can catch up during Link Week. Look out for activities in your faculty and the Link Week Festival: lunchtime, Oak Lawn, Tuesday 18 March.

We hope that gives some idea about what assistance UniAccess and Student Services can provide. Come and say hello and see how we might contribute towards your experience of an enjoyable, challenging, fun-packed and successful year at UWA.

Best wishes to you all from the UniAccess team

Barbara, Deborah, Katie and Mark
