Hi everyone - as the annoucement above suggests, the node.live community is movingto Facebook. We think this will make it a lot easier for incomign students to find us and will allow students and staff to interact in a much more productive way. Follow the links aboe and if you need more help on gettign started in Facebook then this Survival Guide from the UWA Study Smarter team might be useful.
See you over on Facebook!

Celeste seems to think summer is on the way but daylight savings has been ushered in with rain and more rain (yes, I know the rivers need it). Ordinarily a BIG fan of daylight savings (feels so indulgent to have sunlight so late in the afternoons!)

FYI - I'll be back on campus starting 13th October after 8 months away...see everyone soon!

not only does the mid-year break mean free parking in yellow bays (good news for all those post grads out there) but it means half the year has gone which often comes as a surprise to some students - particularly first years!

Well here we are at the end of week 4 with only 2 weeks until the official end of winter and only 3 weeks until the mid-Semester study break.
If your resolutions from Semester 1 have fallen by the wayside or if you need a weekly boost to your studying you might want to sign-up for the Get Smart e-newsletter (at: http://www.studentservices.uwa.edu.au/ss/learning/portal). The newsletter includes study tips, reminders about workshops and (this week) some opportunities to earn some extra $$ with our team.

ps - I am kinda attached to my new node picture - it's what I would look like if i was on the Simpsons (and had blue hair). Jealous?

Hi y'all
I'm in the process of starting a new wiki trying to explain ICT concepts in really simple terms. Some students might be new to things like WebCT and Lectopia and others might like to have RSS, mashup mapping and tagging explained to them. It'd be verrry interesting to see how many UWA staff could benefit from a beginners guide to ICT.
Anyhoo, I'll be putting up content over the next few weeks so feel free to add to my new wiki (Sam that means YOU).
