Just got back from the 2007 UWA Bike Breakfast held on Riley Oval (oval next to the University Club of Western Australia).
We got there just on 7am, a quick ride (mostly in the dark due to
Daylight Saving) from South Perth. This is my usual trek to uni, but I
have not done it this early in the morning before.
What was special about this ride, is that there was little or no
wind. Often I have a SW or SSW wind, i.e. head wind, so the weather man
was kind to me this morning.
On arrival, we were welcomed and handed a bike biden bottle. Also, we had
the opportunity to get a raffle ticket to win door prizes or the big
prize of a gift voucher for several hundred dollars.
Most people seemed to arrive about 7.30am. The breakfast was
plentiful, and it was a nice change to sit down for a long breakfast
time with friends and watch the sun come up.
I just wish it was a regular event, rather than once a year to celebrate Bike Week .
