A Long Weekend

So, it is a long weekend, what with Easter gracing us quite early on this year.

I was quite looking forward to it on Thursday morning - had visons of myself frolicking in the sun, laughing gaily at random things and so on and so forth.

It ain't gonna happen.

24 hours isn't enough...

I can't believe it's already week 3...

I've been so busy with trying to kep up with uni & college life - its a lot busier than the quieter country lifestyle I'm used to and trying to keep on top of all my lectures/labs/workshops and social life is a bit difficult.

Oh Time, where art thou?

Quick blog (I am studying ... can't you tell?):

In the future, when we're all wearing silver suits and floating shoes, they will find out a way to see where time goes. Then they will see that students are little black holes: time just gets sucked in and ... goes away to a mysterious place, probably a place populated with people waiting in a doctor/dentist/job interview room (who think to themselves "My god, will this never end? How long can this take?!).

This is my explanation why I never have enough time.

Competitions at Link Week

Link Week is happening next week. All the events are coming together and it looks like its going to be a great week with some good opportunities to meet more students and your lecturers informally in a festival atmosphere.

Beginning of Honours... Life Beyond Facebook.

With uni back in full swing sacrifices must be made in order to gain academic victory at the end of semester. In my case this means I have to spend as much time as possible on my honours project and as little as I can on other forms of entertainment.

How can I give away 2 ipods?

I can't believe that one week of semester is gone already and before I know it, it will be Week 3.

2nd year vs. 1st year: ??

Ok, so I was thinking: how different is 2nd year to 1st year?

My first year (especially my first semester) was fraught with all sorts of stuff: panic, disorientation, more panic, poverty, psych experiements (to combat the aforementioned poverty) and figuring out how I study.

So, are any of these still present, now that I am into my second year? Umm, no and yes. Or yes and no ...

UniSkills events coming up

Week 1 is almost over already. We had an awesome crowd at the first lunch. It was great to see some folk catching up after Flying Start and others meeting for the first time.

Week 2 we have our Info Panel on Tuesday 11th, 1pm in Rm G202 -that is in the Social Sciences South Wing courtyard. There will be some key members of staff who will give  a bit of an overview of some things you might need to think about at this time of year and you can ask questions. Anyone welcome -bring friends along, they don't have to be in UniSkills.
