This area contains definitions and brief "how to" instructions for each of the core areas of the NODE website.
|
What are the main differences between each of node's sections? Blogs - More focussed on the individual, a user's own personal weblog/web journal which they post to, and can be commented upon by other users. Books - More focussed on group-authoring. One user can create a book page, but many users can edit and update this page. Pages can be organised into their own hierarchy of 'parent' and 'child' pages. Groups - The main way that users can gather together and form their own groups, within which they can publish content only to each other, and not all users on node.live. Users can create/control their own groups, and other users are then invited to subscribe/are free to subscribe depending on the accessibility of the group. Forums - An archived conversation of 'comments' - a user can start a 'thread' or discussion, other users comment on/respond to it, the order of replies is listed chronologically. |
