I can't believe that one week of semester is gone already and before I know it, it will be Week 3.

In 2007, we asked three fabulous then-first-year students - Dion, Anne and Elza - to blog for us on the node website. We've created a collection of the best posts on the first six weeks of life at uni for a 'fresher'. Here they are (click here for the full post ):
Orientation/pre-semester

For some students, this week is the first week on campus. They are busy enrolling, going to orientation and generally being introduced to campus life.

Do we make First Year at uni fun for students? This was a question asked several times in different ways at the recent FYHE conference. Uni should be challenging, it should be intellectually rigorous, it should be welcoming and supportive but is it fun? And if it isn’t, could it be?
Uni has finally arrived and to be honest i did not really know what to expect. Was it going to be huge and scary, different to school or just much of the same. I kept on hearing these words being thrown around like tut and labs and i had no idea what anyone was talking about. I rocked up to my first lecture raring to go but the whole time was spent just introing the topic and was not too interesting. It was like that for most of the first week as i slowly adjusted to the uni way of life.
