Oops!

Hey everyone Innocent

I realised this morning, on the bus to school, that I had forgotten to blog yesterday! I believe that this may be because I spent the weekend blowing my nose, sniffling when I wasn't blowing, sneezing and generally feeling all spacey and cotton-woolly in the head.

Always make time for lunch!

I've had a pretty busy Monday morning and my "things to do list" for the afternoon is huge. Due to my busy schedule I was contemplating giving lunch a miss, however, after some serious consideration I decided against it. Food feeds the brain as well as the belly! Plus, I really needed to step away from the computer and have a short break. Now that I've had my break (and a good feed!) I feel better prepared for the afternoon ahead! It's amazing what a bit of lunch can do!

Dissability Support Worker (Katie's) availability in the Resource Room

From next week I won't be available in the Resource Room on Fridays. I'll still be around as usual on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On Thursdays I'll be available by appointment only as I'm based in the student services building that day.

Is email taking over our lives?

I wonder if anyone has created a new psychological term for obsession with email because I'm sure some people suffer from this condition. Email is great but it's also really intrusive sometimes. You start checking it on the weekends, when you're on leave, just in case you've missed something. And then, before you know it, you're hooked into replying, thinking about study or work or whatever and there's no escape.

Struggling

And a resounding hello to all my new converts!

As the title of this post suggests, this entry deals with 'struggling'. Right now I am struggling - with school work, due to something that is rather out of my control. I am usually a very confident person; I am secure in my abilities to deal with whatever travails life throws at me. But lately that has been called into question - my self-esteem, usually well-cared for and flourishing, has taken a hit.

I went away and now I am back

My last post detailed my...anxiety leading up to the exam results.  That seems soooo long ago now!  THankfully I passed everythign but puzzlingly I did better in one unit that I thought I would be lucky to pass and got an annoying 63 in a unit I thought I had kinda mastered!  That leads me to wonder about what units to pick in the future based on these results...I mean is there going to be things I'm not that crazy about but that I'm good at?  And what if I can't get ace marks at the things I really love?  A conundrum no doubt.

ahh the mid-year break begins!

not only does the mid-year break mean free parking in yellow bays (good news for all those post grads out there) but it means half the year has gone which often comes as a surprise to some students - particularly first years!

Blogging makes you happy

It's true - blogging makes you happy. This is the finding of Masters student, James Baker, from Swinburne University. He did some on-line surveys and discovered that people who blogged regularly were more content. People who responded that they intended to blog but didn't, were more distressed. The bloggers said that they felt more connected socially online and they were also more satisfied with their offline friends.

So go for it -get blogging on node and feel happier!

Goodbye to daylight saving

Is anyone else glad to see the end of daylight saving? I'm SO enjoying it not being so dark when I get up in the morning. Is there anyone under 30 who agrees?
