Greetings all new UWA first years for 2008! We hope that your enrolment has gone as smoothly as can be expected, and that this post finds you chirpy and hungry for more info about the first year experience at UWA!
You've come to the right place, and we've got a handful of useful resources right here for you to check out (click here for the full post):

The Scholarships section on the UniAccess website has been updated - check it out

There are lots of great opportunities there for students with a disability to get some extra support during their studies. We are fast approaching the cut off dates for a few of them so you may have to get in fast! The Dr Louisa Alessandri Memorial Fund Scholarship is a good one to apply for - applications are due on the 26th October.

Semester 2 is well and truly underway with about 50 UniSkills students enjoying lunch on Tuesday. Most were familiar faces but we had some students who have just started. There were some anxious moments when the pizza delivery was a bit delayed but that just gave everyone an excuse to hang about and chat until the food arrived.

Are you a postgrad or staff member at UWA? If so, join LACE, UWA's Language and Cultural Exchange program. LACE offers fun social events and a way to meet people from around the uni. It's aim is intercultural friendship. Starts 13 Aug. For more info and to sign up go to www.lace.uwa.edu.au

Hi everyone, this is my fifth year and every semester for me is like it is the first one! Here I am, end of week 1, on a Sunday evening, trying to get organised so that this semester I can keep on top of everything. I am already stressing and I feel like I am behind with my readings. The readings I have for every unit overwhelm me to the point I don't know where to start from! I was wondering, does anyone else feel the same way? Please share your thoughts! I hope you all had a better Sunday than mine!

For some students, this week is the first week on campus. They are busy enrolling, going to orientation and generally being introduced to campus life.

How often do you take time to reflect on what you are doing in your work?
