Stepping into Banking is a four-week paid work experience program designed to assist Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance & Economics students with disability to enter the Accounting profession.
The program provides students with an opportunity to showcase their talents, and gain valuable skills and experience that will facilitate their future employment in the Accounting sector.

From next week I won't be available in the Resource Room on Fridays. I'll still be around as usual on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On Thursdays I'll be available by appointment only as I'm based in the student services building that day.

Hello everyone-who-is-reading-this
So, another study week is just about to kick off. We only get four these a year - two of them heralding exams. This isn't one of those - obviously, being it's mid-semester - so that's ok.

And a resounding hello to all my new converts!
As the title of this post suggests, this entry deals with 'struggling'. Right now I am struggling - with school work, due to something that is rather out of my control. I am usually a very confident person; I am secure in my abilities to deal with whatever travails life throws at me. But lately that has been called into question - my self-esteem, usually well-cared for and flourishing, has taken a hit.
I can't believe it -tomorrow sem 2 starts and all those good intentions about being prepared and getting organised seemed to have flown out the window already. I was going to do some reading, wasn't I. Well I did but it wasn't anything to do with uni work. And I was going to think up a system to get my notes organised. Somehow I got through sem 1 so it couldn't have been that bad but there were a few last minute all-nighters with deadlines due. Maybe not such a good idea. I aim to be a bit ahead of the deadlines but somehow they just sneak up on me.

The Deafness Council of WA have just announced their inaugural Leadership Scholarship. Is worth $3000 and can be spent on tuition, text materials or any other support considered necessary for the Scholar(s) to successfully undertake a leadership development program. The money can also be used to cover support services such as interpreting, transcription typing and purchase of assistive listening devices. So if you fit the eligibility its probably worth applying for. More information on how to apply can be found on the UniAccess scholarships page

This has to be seen! The Study Smarter team now host a small army of online animated characters that you can *click and play* to hear the real stories of UWA students. No special software needed and each story is no more than 90 seconds longTake yourself off to Digital Resources page on the Study Smarter website to have a look. Go on. You know you want to.

Does that sound like a lot? 102 hours? apparently that's when the exam results are *out*. So my efforts to not think about it are completely not working despite my (small) logical brain telling me that there is nothing to be done about it now, the results were decided weeks ago blah blah (maybe i AM turning into my mother...). Either way it sounds like an example of my logical brain being at war with my emotional one (and guess who's winning!?).

anyone know when the Semester 1 exam results are out...? I keep getting asked!!

I am bored.
But not because I don't have anything to but because ... I'm not sure.
There are two essays (2,000 and 3,000 words respectively), one assignment and the usual lines of Latin waiting patiently for me. Yet ... I am bored.
Guess my brain has wisened up and decided it will be bored not only when there is nothing to do but when there is nothing of interest to do! Damn, I'm smart!
...
I'm still bored though ...
