Study

Why, hello there! Cool

Long time no ... reading of my blog! I hope that I haven't upset my masses of fans out there by not posting in the last few weeks! I do apologise for the break in communication - as the title of this entry states: Time flies.

Which is good and bad.

I am drowning ...

... in SuperSearch! It's limitless possibilities and endless connections to obscure fricking journals with tiny wee undergrad papers AND book reviews (what use is a BLOODY book review???? ) is driving me to the point of BASHING ON MY KEYBOARD VERY HARD, pushing my temples to stop my brain from exploding, grunt loudly at the computer, push my fingers as far into my stomach as I possibly can without it really properly hurting and wanting to jump out the window.

Will this never end?!

Just a short entry today as I need to do something ... what was it ... oh yes: sleep. I need to sleep so I can wake up and do more study. So much to do and so little time! I will be so happy for the study break so I can study ... seriously! I can study without the threat of lecturers reminding me of more upcoming assignments.

Ah, the small pleasures of life :)

Good night, fellow students and may your brain get a very deserved rest :)

Getting it together

Who was it who said 'Genius is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration'? They should have said 90% good time management. No point working hard if you aren't really focused on the tasks that need to be done and applying the right amount of time to those that matter. My challenge is doing the hard tasks rather than being distracted by concentrating on things I enjoy (it's still work, after all!). It's such a skill to have the discipline to work out what needs to be done and just get on with it. Don't think I've quite got it together yet.

My first experience of ILS!!

Greetings, fellow students :)

So, I know you are all wondering (note how I assume that my blog is read by hundreds, no, thousands of people!) what ILS is.

ILS is a new acronym that I have come up with to stand for 'Incomprehensive Lecture Syndrome'.  It means when you attend or listen to a lecture and you have no idea, I repeat, NO idea, what the lecturer was talking about. Even though he or she was speaking English (as far as you could tell, anyway).

More long weekends

The luxury of 2 extra days in a weekend is hard to measure. All those tasks that normally take up most of the weekend, just so you're in shape for Monday morning again, can be spread over 4 days. There's some time to catch up on those emails with interesting links that you never quite get to usually. A bit of time to read blogs, reflect, read, even talk to people. And sleep...gradually you stop waking up at the crack of dawn. Ahh, long weekends, there should be more of them.

A Long Weekend

So, it is a long weekend, what with Easter gracing us quite early on this year.

I was quite looking forward to it on Thursday morning - had visons of myself frolicking in the sun, laughing gaily at random things and so on and so forth.

It ain't gonna happen.

24 hours isn't enough...

I can't believe it's already week 3...

I've been so busy with trying to kep up with uni & college life - its a lot busier than the quieter country lifestyle I'm used to and trying to keep on top of all my lectures/labs/workshops and social life is a bit difficult.

Oh Time, where art thou?

Quick blog (I am studying ... can't you tell?):

In the future, when we're all wearing silver suits and floating shoes, they will find out a way to see where time goes. Then they will see that students are little black holes: time just gets sucked in and ... goes away to a mysterious place, probably a place populated with people waiting in a doctor/dentist/job interview room (who think to themselves "My god, will this never end? How long can this take?!).

This is my explanation why I never have enough time.
